our story
First the island, district by district, then its villages, next the free places not to miss, and finally the places to book.

Start readingfirst, the postcards
Before suggesting anything, we wanted to show you the island the way it divides up: into nine districts. Each one has its own postcard, with its highlights in the caption: Black River means Le Morne, Tamarin and Chamarel; Grand Port, Mahébourg and Blue Bay; Moka, Le Pouce and the hills. At a glance, you know which coast you’re leaning towards.

then, the stamps
A postcard wasn’t enough: within the same district, Grand Baie is not Cap Malheureux. So every village, or town, will get its own stamp as soon as Ayo lists a place there. On the app’s map, you’ll zoom into a district: its stamps will appear, and each one will show you what’s around it, the places to book as well as the free places.

next, the must-sees
We’ve gathered what you mustn’t miss and can’t buy: the beaches, the hikes, the waterfalls, the viewpoints, and the mountains, with their history. On the app’s map, they’ll appear next to the places to book, circled in green. For each one, Ayo will tell you the best time to go, both the time of day and the time of year. Like the look of a place? You’ll be able to add it to your trip, on the ideal day. Nothing to book, nothing to pay.

Le Morne Brabant is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Ayo, every mountain will come with its story, told with care, checked and sourced.
From May to November, it’s dry and mild: ideal for hiking. From December to April, it’s the southern summer, hot and humid, with the lagoon at its best and a risk of cyclones, mainly from January to March. And depending on your dates, Ayo will point out the island’s festivals: Divali, the Chinese Spring Festival, the Festival Kreol…
On your own, at your own pace. Or with a guide, who’ll tell you about the place along the way: that’s the next page.
finally, the places
The places that make a stay better: a room, a car, a boat trip, a table, a guide, an activity. Ayo will also tell you where to go out in the evening, and where to find your souvenirs before you leave. You’ll pay online when you book, and it will be confirmed straight away if the slot is free; for restaurants, you’ll book on WhatsApp. Once there, your Ayo Code may unlock a little extra: a homemade dessert here, a cocktail on board there.
Direct, with no chain of middlemen.
Of what you’ll pay in the app, Ayo will take 12 to 18% depending on the activity, and whoever hosts you will keep 82 to 88%. Prices in euros, tax included.

what guides us, on every page
Ayo will take care of the organising so you can enjoy the island: the right places, at the right time, without spending your evenings on it.
the Bulbul, the app’s assistant: it will know your trip
to book with peace of mind
Here’s what we’ll guarantee you as soon as bookings open.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before, no questions asked.
A boat trip cancelled because of the weather will always be refunded.
Not if the slot is free. And if your host can’t make it: another slot, or a full refund.
The app will be in French, and the Ayo team will reply to you in French on WhatsApp.
In euros, all taxes included, paid when you book. Ayo’s commission will already be included: 18% on a boat trip, 12 to 18% depending on the activity. At restaurants, you’ll book a table via WhatsApp and pay the bill on the spot.

The questionnaire and early access, yes, with no commitment. For the app, nothing’s decided yet, and your answers will help us decide. One thing is certain: Ayo will be paid by the places it lists, never through fees added to your payment.
